Regarded as a true maestro of Italian commercial art, Filippo Romoli was born in the seaside town of Liguria, and is remembered as perhaps the most important 20th Century Italian poster designer. Among his vintage travel posters is this colorful example showcasing a tanned, yellow-suited bathing beauty tossing a beach ball. Gravitating first toward art deco, Romoli later would embrace Futurism and Novecento Italiano styles.
