15th - 19th Century
Drawings, etchings, and woodcuts were popular with many artists of the 15th-19th century. Artist like Rembrandt, Albrecht Durer and Hieronymus Andreae employed these methods to produce their works. Etchings and woodcuts allowed an artist to sell their wares at reasonable fees to the bourgeoisie. Art, for the first time in Europe became affordable.
