French painter Gustave Jean Jacquet was a student of William Bouguereau and a prolific portraitist who specialized in rendering female subjects, wealthy and poor, whether classically beautiful or simple peasant girls. Jacquet’s Girl with Red Dress is a subtly-fashioned work with elements of both the Romantic and Classical, intricate detail, and sumptuous color. Remastered at Art Chateau, c.2015.
