The “Master with the Parrot” was a group of painters who worked closely together in a Flemish workshop in the 16th-century, sharing an Italianate style popular with the middle class of the day. Their name derives from a tropical bird that often figured, incongruously, in their religious canvases. Here we see a beautiful Mixed-Media painting of Saint Mary Magdalene.
