Landscapist Paulus Potter joined the Guild of St. Luke’s for artists in Delft, before relocating to the Hague. Potter was known for his pastoral scenes that featured animals, often seen from a low point of view. Potter produced approximately one hundred canvases, such as this quaint rural scene.
