Guermann von Bohn was a law student before discovering his talent for painting. After an education in Paris and Rome, von Bohn became a court painter in the city of Stuttgart. Here we see von Bohn’s quaint portrait of a peasant girl in a Roman costume, holding and surrounded by flowers as she sits at the edge of an Alpine forest.
