August Wilhelm Roesler produced religious and landscape works but is most famous for his genre scenes of schoolchildren, Bavarian peasants, and rural German life. Here we see Roesler at his finest, with a richly-detailed and sentimental picture of three young Nun's making a happy sound echoing thru out the cloister.
