Oleksandr Khvostov was an academic artist born in Russia, he studied at the Moscow School of Painting and became a member of the Union of Artists and also studied at the studio of Aleksandra Ekster in Kiev, Ukraine. He began designing advertising boards, Ballet, and Opera stage sets in the Constructivist style.
