Francois Clouet, taking inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa has combined Italian inspiration and the meticulous detail of Netherlandish art, both characteristic of Clouet in particular and the French Renaissance in general. This painting was a result of an invitation of Francis I to decorate his elaborate bath at Chateau Fontainebleau. A Mixed-Media painting.
