McClelland Barclay was an American illustrator for middle-class periodicals who studied art and became a renowned magazine artist who was one of the first to render the gorgeous gams (and all the rest) of Betty Grable. Here we see his painting style capture beauty in a frontispiece for a popular magazine of the time.
